Perhaps more popularly known for his bad-boy role as Damon - one half of the devilishly handsome Salvatore brothers, in the hugely successful drama series The Vampire Diaries.

1. He was born on 8 December 1978
2. He began modelling at the age of ten for designers including Gucci, D&G and Versace 
3. His acting breakthrough came when he landed the role of Boone Carlyle in the television series Lost - he was the first to be cast and also the first to die 
4. Despite keeping his personal life private he dated Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev (Elena and Katherine) for three years before the two sadly split earlier this year... form a line ladies 
5. He is a philanthropist and devotes a lot of his spare time to protecting animals and the environment

So, just to clarify, he is easily the best looking vampire around - step aside R-Patz - he's single AND he loves animals. Could he get much better?
